The Accountant job is responsible with the financial management
of Mombasa Branch.. Prepares the financial statements of the branch in
accordance to the financial policies and procedure manual of the Association
and the international Financial Reporting standards for Small and Medium –
Sized Entities.
Core Accounting Duties &Responsibilities
Ensuring the day to-day running of the Accounting department.
Ensures that the Accounting policies and procedures are

Ensuring the day to-day running of the Accounting department.
Ensures that the Financial Regulation Manual is in accordance to the International Accountancy Standards for small – Sized Entities.
Ensure that appropriate Insurance and adequate cover is in place for all the Branch assets.
Planning for external and internal audit for the Branch.
Cash flow analysis and management.
Preparing quarterly financial statements
Preparation of Annual Budget for the Branch.
Preparation of end year financial statements of the Branch.
Ensure donor reports are timely and accurate.
Ensure that all financial records are well maintained.
Ensures that the financial systems of the Branch are in place and are adhered to.
Ensures that internal control systems are in place and are adhered to.
Ensure adherence to budgets.
Ensures that creditor/debtor policies are adhered to.
Analyses and interprets financial departmental reports to the management.
Prepares and analyses management accounts and advises the management on the same.
Liaise with store keeper with regard to stock taking reports and issues reports and the cateress on daily foods costs.
Checks and verify all documents related to financial transactions.
Ensures that Accountabilities of all documents related to financial transactions are timely and up to date.
Updates the fixed asset register as well as conducting fixed asset inventory checks.
Accountant Qualifications, experience and Competencies
Bachelor ‘s degree in financial disciplines
CPA Part 2
Minimum 2 years experience in a busy finance department.
Knowledge of pastel is compulsory.
Knowledge of Microsoft application especially Excel and Word is compulsory.
Good planning skills.
Good communication and writing skills.
Experience in working with a non profit making organization, implementing community development programmes and operating income generating facilities.
