Job Description
We are seeking a highly qualified Logistics Officer to join our team.
As a Logistics Officer, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating all aspects of logistical operations, ensuring the efficient flow of goods, materials, and resources.
You are also required to manage transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and the timely delivery of goods in a safe and timely manner.
Main task and Responsibilities
Responsible for planning, purchasing, receiving and delivering of materials to client.
Undertake route planning, taking into consideration passenger needs and traffic conditions.
Collect and deliver materials, staffs and clients to and from their required destination.
Responsible for the cleaning and maintaining of their vehicles in a clean and tidy condition.
Report any accidents and vehicle damage, and possible offences under the Road Traffic Acts as well as all matters affecting the efficiency and day-to-day running of the transport service.
Ensure that the company vehicle is in order before embarking on any journey.
Stop any work that can potentially harm people, assets or the environment.
Coordinate deliveries, vehicles, loads and journeys.
Track goods and personnel movement.
Develop and confirm schedules.
Plan for and negotiate technical difficulties.
Prepare all necessary paperwork for each journey/delivery.
Liaise with staff when the need arises.
Monitor the status of incoming supplies, and correspondence with suppliers.
Liaise with users/customers in order to organize reception of goods. If goods are not going directly to user/customer, the assistant will organize safe reception in the organization’s warehouses.
Liaise with Material Controller to receive goods.
Ensure proper and timely mobilization and demobilisation of materials as required.
Inspect goods before project commencement to give report.
Monthly inspection of materials with Material Controller and HSE Department.
Report all accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with procedures.
Make and receive waybill.
Take charge of inventory.
Service equipment and tools.
Requirements / Qualifications
At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in logistics operations.
Degree in Distribution, Logistics, Transportation, or any relevant discipline.
Proven working experience in a similar role in an organization within Lagos State.
Conversant knowledge of routes in Lagos and its environs.
Strong knowledge of road safety rules and regulations.
Valid driver’s license.
Should reside in Lekki Phase 1 or its environ
