Job Title: Production Manager

About
the Role
- We
are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimize
daily production activities within our plastic manufacturing facility.
- The
successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production targets
are achieved safely, efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with
required quality standards.
Key
Responsibilities
- Plan,
coordinate, and supervise daily production activities.
- Ensure
production targets are achieved within approved timelines and resource
requirements.
- Monitor
production output, machine efficiency, capacity utilization, downtime,
waste, and material consumption.
- Develop
production schedules based on customer orders, inventory levels, and
available capacity.
- Ensure
optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, raw materials, and other
production resources.
- Monitor
the performance and availability of production machinery and coordinate
with the Maintenance Team on breakdowns and preventive maintenance.
- Identify
production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve
efficiency.
- Monitor
production costs and implement measures to reduce waste and unnecessary
expenditure.
- Ensure
adherence to approved production processes, quality standards, and
specifications.
- Work
closely with Quality Control to identify and resolve product defects and
production variances.
- Ensure
compliance with health, safety, environmental, and operational
requirements.
- Supervise
production personnel and ensure effective manpower deployment.
- Monitor
employee attendance, productivity, discipline, and performance within the
production unit.
- Prepare
and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
- Analyze
production data and provide recommendations for improving productivity and
operational efficiency.
- Support
continuous improvement initiatives across the production facility.
- Coordinate
with Procurement, Warehouse, Sales,
and other departments to ensure uninterrupted production.
Requirements
- Bachelor's
Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial
Engineering, Production Management, or a related field.
- 5–8
years of relevant production/manufacturing experience.
- Proven
experience managing production teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Practical
knowledge of plastic manufacturing processes such as injection moulding,
blow moulding, extrusion, or related processes.
- Strong
understanding of production planning, machine utilization, quality
control, and waste reduction.
- Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability
to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Strong
leadership and people-management skills.
- Experience
using ERP/manufacturing systems and production reporting tools is an
advantage.
