Job Summary

  • We are seeking ambitious, intelligent, and customer-focused graduates to join our team as Graduate Trainee Relationship Officers.
  • The successful candidates will undergo structured training and gain practical experience in customer relationship management, account acquisition, sales, business development, and financial product promotion.
  • The role is suitable for graduates who are passionate about building relationships, achieving sales targets, and developing a career in banking and financial services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to acquire new customers and grow the customer base.
  • Promote and sell the bank's products and services, including savings/current accounts, loans, cards, digital banking solutions, and other financial products.
  • Conduct market and customer visits to identify business opportunities.
  • Generate leads through referrals, networking, direct marketing, and other approved channels.
  • Understand customers' financial needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
  • Support customer onboarding and ensure proper completion of account-opening documentation.
  • Follow up with prospective customers to convert leads into active customers.
  • Maintain regular contact with assigned customers and provide excellent customer service.
  • Assist customers with enquiries and escalate complex issues to the appropriate team.
  • Monitor customer accounts and identify opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling.
  • Meet assigned individual and team sales, acquisition, and revenue targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, prospects, sales activities, and follow-ups.
  • Comply with all applicable banking policies, regulatory requirements, KYC procedures, and internal controls.
  • Participate actively in training programmes, coaching sessions, team meetings, and performance reviews.
  • Prepare and submit periodic sales and customer activity reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Relationship Manager or Branch Manager.

Requirements

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree or HND from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of Second Class Lower / Lower Credit or equivalent may be required.
  • NYSC completion or exemption
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong interest in banking, sales, customer relationship management, and business development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
