Mechanical Engineer

Nation Media Group is the largest independent media house in
East and Central Africa with operations in print, broadcast and digital media.
We are seeking to recruit an experienced and self-motivated
individual to the position of Mechanical
Engineer.
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Engineer will be expected to deliver on operational and technical requirements in accordance with our quality standards while guaranteeing that we are true to our vision of being the Media of Africa for Africa.
Key responsibilities
- Preparation
of routine maintenance plans and tasks for a rotary web-offset printing
press and ancillary equipment;
- Implementation
of planned and preventive maintenance tasks;
- Troubleshooting
and resolving of machine problems and break downs expeditiously;
- Installation
and commissioning of new production equipment;
- Implementation
of safe working practices;
- Supervision
of plant technicians.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Basic
University Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- At
least 3 years working experience;
- Knowledge
/awareness of OSH Act of 2007;
- Knowledgeable
in applying best practice for print production;
- Demonstrable
capability to fit and contribute within a technical and professional team;
- Ability
and readiness to work long hours
