Position: Construction
Manager
Role: Overall
in charge of all construction projects
Responsibilities:
- Estimation
and Tendering
- Represent
DDBL at all site meetings.
- The
overall in charge of all construction projects
- Preparing
the site and liaising with other construction professionals such as
architects, engineers, buyers, estimators and surveyors before
construction work start.
- Developing
the program of work and strategy for making the project happen.
- Planning
ahead to prevent problems on site before they occur, for example, planning
the delivery and storage of equipment and materials.
- Making
safety inspections of the site when work is underway and ensuring
regulations relating to health safety and the environment (HSE) are
adhered to.
- Overseeing
the running of several projects.
- Using
construction management software packages to plan smooth work flows.
- Communicating
with a range of people including the client, subcontractors, suppliers,
the public and the workforce.
- Overall
supervision of quality of materials and work execution
- Taking
due care of all equipment and tools in all project sites
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelors
degree in Land Economics, Civil Engineering or Construction management
- Extensive
in-depth knowledge of the construction industry
- Relevant
professional training in project management or construction management
will be an added advantage
- Minimum
ten (10) years working experience in the construction industry
- Must
be a good forward planner
- Must
possess excellent people management skills
- Must
be able to present ideas and be a good negotiator
- Good
in problem solving
- Must
be computers literate
- Must
have strong analytical skills important for running construction projects
- Must
be an individual of integrity
