USAID/Kenya’s Agriculture, Business and Environment Office (ABEO) intends to undertake a performance evaluation of its cooperative agreement (CA) to Institute for Environmental Innovation (I4EI) – and its sub-agreement holder Catholic Relief Services (CRS) – to work in a Global Development Alliance with its private sector partner, Clean Air Action Corporation (CAAC). Although the project is beyond its chronological midpoint, the evaluation is intended as a “mid-term” performance evaluation.
Position Summary:
The
Kenya Community Forestry Expert will be responsible for balancing the
international perspectives of the other team members with the political,
social, and economic realities of Kenyan farm families.
The position is expected to begin in January and the assignment is lasting approximately 1 month.

Responsibilities:
- Participate in
all meetings, under the direction of the Team Leader;
- Contribute to
all analyses and debriefings;
- Assess the
political, social, and economic realities of Kenyan farm families;
- Contribute to
report drafting.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of seven
years of experience in Kenya’s forestry sector;
- Three years of
experience in community forestry and related programs;
- Have an
excellent grasp of issues related to rural development and gender in
Kenya;
- Experience
working on evaluations;
- Exposure to
forestry initiatives outside Kenya is a plus;
- Fluent in spoken
English and Kiswahili.
