Job Title: Middleware Officer
Location: Lagos

Job Objective (s)
- The Middleware Officer is responsible for administering,
configuring, monitoring, maintaining, and supporting the organisation’s
middleware platforms and integration environments.
- The role ensures the availability, performance, security, and
reliability of middleware services that facilitate seamless communication
and integration between applications, systems, databases, and external
platforms.
Duties &
Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, monitor, and maintain middleware platforms
and integration environments to ensure optimal performance and
availability.
- Monitor middleware services, APIs, message queues, and interfaces to
identify and resolve performance and availability issues proactively.
- Troubleshoot middleware-related incidents, integration failures, and
system errors, including conducting root-cause analysis and implementing
preventive measures.
- Support the deployment, configuration, upgrades, patching, and
migration of middleware platforms across development, testing, and
production environments.
- Manage and support integrations between internal applications,
external systems, financial institutions, partners, and third-party
service providers.
- Implement and maintain middleware security configurations, access
controls, certificates, authentication mechanisms, and related security
requirements.
- Support capacity planning, performance tuning, system optimisation,
and continuous improvement of middleware platforms and services.
- Collaborate with Application Development, Infrastructure, Database,
Information Security, and other Technology teams to deliver effective
integration solutions.
- Participate in incident, problem, change, release management,
disaster recovery, and business continuity activities relating to
middleware platforms.
- Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures, engage
vendors where required, and drive automation and process improvements
across middleware operations.
Job Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering,
Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience:
- 5 - 8 years of relevant professional experience in middleware
administration, application integration, systems integration, platform
engineering, or a related technology environment.
- Experience working within a financial services, fintech, payments,
banking, telecommunications, or similarly transaction-intensive
environment, & Relevant professional certifications in middleware,
cloud, DevOps, systems administration, or related technologies will be an
advantage.
- Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, version control, and
automated deployment processes.
