Job Title: Heavy Duty Mechanic

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Workshop Manager
Job Summary
The Heavy Duty Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy-duty vehicles and machinery such as trucks, bulldozers, excavators, cranes, and graders.
The role ensures all equipment is operating safely, efficiently, and in compliance with operational standards.
Responsibilities
Performing routine maintenance on heavy-duty equipment and vehicles.
Diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on machinery.
Conducting repairs and replacing damaged or worn parts as needed.
Testing repaired equipment for proper performance.
Keeping maintenance records and updating service logs.
Interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
Conducting inspections and identifying potential issues before they become major problems.
Operating various hand and power tools.
Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Responding to emergency repair calls and performing field service when required.
Requirements
Trade certification or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and brake systems.
Ability to work independently and under pressure in outdoor and workshop environments.
Strong knowledge of safety practices and procedures.
Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
Salary
N100,000 - N120,000 Monthly.
