The Rural
Electrification Authority, a state corporation established under the Energy Act
No. 12 of 2006 is mandated to enhance provision of electricity in the rural
areas of the country. It is also the lead agency in the development and
promotion of renewable energy in Kenya.
Through its
mandate, the Authority seeks to improve the socio-economic well-being of
Kenyans living in rural areas.
Moving
forward the Authority will put more focus on renewable energy to provide
electricity to areas far away from the national grid network.
The
Authority is looking for experienced, highly motivated and results oriented
individuals to fill vacancies in the organization.
The

driving the REA mandate.

work with their Departmental teams in spearheading / embracing innovations,

Chief Manager,
Construction - REA 2
(Grid Network - 1 Post)
Key Duties
and Responsibilities:
- Head
the Construction Department of the Authority;
- Manage
implementation of projects – grid connection projects for Rural
Electrification Authority in close collaboration with the Ministry of
Energy and Petroleum and Kenya Power.
- Approve
Purchase Requisitions (PR) for all purchases of equipment for the
department and PRs for all projects in accordance with approved
procedures.
- Nurture
departmental competencies and promoting a working environment that
optimizes individual and team potential.
- Promote
management and technological innovations to enhance the department’s
efficiency.
- Authorize
and approve accounting documents: Travel Allowance Claims, mileage return,
stores requisition forms, company vehicle requests.
- Authorize
cancellation of awards for non-performing contractors.
Qualifications
- Master’s
Degree in a relevant field.
- Bachelor’s
Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Registered
Engineer with EBK
Experience
and competencies:
- 12
years relevant working experience, with at least 6 years at senior
management level in a department or division in a busy environment
- IT

the promotion and Development of Renewable Energy;
- Promote
partnerships in Renewable Energy;
- Approve

department and PRs for all projects in accordance with approved

- Promote
