The Kenya National Examinations Council wishes to Recruit Self
Motivated and Qualified Professionals for the Vacant Positions Listed Below.
1.0 Deputy Secretary(Administration)
The Deputy Secretary, Administration will report to the Senior
Deputy Secretary, Human Resource Management & Administration.
1.1 Duties and Responsibilities
1.1.1 Overall in charge of all General Administration activities
in KNEC;
1.1.2 Co-ordinate and oversee smooth provision of outsourced
general administration activities including maintenance, security, cleaning,
catering, clearing and forwarding, transport and logistics, courier services,
recommend to the disposal committee disposal of obsolete stores, monitor and
report on performance of outsourced services.
1.1.3 Facilitate meetings for specialized functions; maintain
minutes, and co-ordinate the implementation of resolutions of joint meetings of
the specialized services.
1.1.4 Apply the performance management systems including
performance appraisal.
1.1.5 Prepare, monitor and control the divisional budget.
1.1.6 Manage all the facilities and assets of the Council.
1.1.7 Ensure efficient resource mobilization and utilization.
1.2 Qualifications and Experience
1.2.1 A Masters Degree in any of the following: Business
Administration, Public Administration, or any other relevant field.
1.2.2 Fifteen (15) years experience handling administrative
functions as indicated in 1.1 above in a reputable Public or Private
Institution, with at least one year experience at a senior level. The duties
and responsibilities should be clearly specified in the CV indicating the
period.
1.2.3 Applicants should also have headed at least a Section or
above in a complex Public or Private institution with a staff establishment of
more than 200 employees.
1.2.4 KCSE mean grade C+ and above or equivalent qualification.
1.2.5 Those who have attended a Strategic Leadership Development
Programme lasting not less than four (4) weeks, training in Logistics or
Project Management will have an added advantage.
2.0 Terms of Offer
The Council will offer a competitive remuneration package
commensurate with seniority and responsibilities of the position.
