About World Volunteers Kenya (WVK)
World Volunteering Kenya (WVK), registered as Kenya Local
Community Development Project (KELCODEP), is a non-profit, Non-Governmental
Organization started to improve the quality of life in the Kenyan communities.
We are Kenyan based-Organization facilitating between local communities,
Organizations, and both international and local volunteers to participate in
voluntary work in Kenya.
About the Position
The Travel Generalist (TG) shall be charged with the management
of all travel arrangements for staff and volunteers to and from the field
project areas.
He/ she shall ensure that the means chosen are not only
generally safe and appropriate for the particular area the visit is being made
but equally cost-effective.
He/ she shall also ensure that all vehicles owned or managed by
WVK on behalf of various partners are kept in good working order at all times.
The travel generalist shall be the pivotal support reference
point with regards to any travel to be arranged for or by WVK.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Make airport
transfer arrangements for all volunteers.
- Arrange for the
safe delivery of volunteers within the country on assignment to their
projects using the appropriate means.
- Make bookings,
cancellations or reschedule for travel arrangements of both staff and
volunteers under WVK.
- Maintain proper
legal documentation of all volunteers travelling by any means provided by
WVK.
- Conduct training
and ensure that volunteers are familiar with the available travel options
within their area of project implementation.
- Train volunteers
on public safety of their own self and property while operating in the
projects.
- Keep volunteers
updated on any travel advisories issued by their Governments and follow
the right documentation procedure for ensuring the volunteers continue
working in the projects safely.
- Deal with any
complaints or feedback relating to any travel arrangements made for WVK
staff or the volunteers and keep all parties well informed on any
particular issue relating to their travel.
- Conduct any
other tasks relating to travel by WVK staff and volunteers as may be
necessary from time to time.
Academic & Professional Qualifications
- Holder of at
least a Diploma in tours and travel.
- Fluent in both
English and Kiswahili (written and spoken).
- Good knowledge
of the geography of the areas in which our volunteers are operating in and
the general country as a whole.
- At least 2 years
working experience in a related or similar position in a corporate,
non-governmental organization.
- Ability and
willingness to engage in frequent travel within the country.
- Applicant must be below 35 years
of age.
