Job Title: Data Analyst



Location: Nigeria

Job Objective(s)

  • The Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data to support strategic decision-making across the organization.

  • This role involves creating meaningful reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide actionable insights to various departments.

  • The analyst will work closely with key stakeholders to understand business needs, identify trends, and present data-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency, customer engagement, and business performance within a fast-paced fintech environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.

  • Build, automate, and maintain dashboards and reports for business units to track KPIs and business performance.

  • Translate complex data findings into clear and concise narratives for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Work collaboratively with departments such as Product, Marketing, Risk, and Finance to understand data needs and deliver customized insights.

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to support product development, customer behavior understanding, and operational improvements.

  • Assist in the design and implementation of data models to support forecasting, segmentation, and predictive analytics.

  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across systems and support data governance efforts.

  • Monitor data quality and help resolve discrepancies in data reporting.

  • Stay current with industry trends, tools, and best practices in analytics, especially within fintech.

  • Support A/B testing, market segmentation, and campaign performance analysis.

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Data Science, or a related field.

  • A Master’s Degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related discipline is an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related roles, preferably in a fintech or technology-driven environment.

General Experience:

  • Understanding of fintech business models and digital financial products is an added advantage.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and extraction.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).

  • Strong skills in Excel, and at least one programming language such as Python or R.

  • Understanding of relational databases, data structures, and ETL processes.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data mining techniques.

  • Familiarity with A/B testing, cohort analysis, and time-series forecasting.

Certifications:

  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate, or equivalent are beneficial.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain data insights to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver within tight deadlines.

  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
