Job Title: Executive Director – Technical
Location: Ilorin, Kwara
Job
Summary
- The
Executive Director – Technical will provide strategic leadership and
oversight for all technical operations of the company, including
manufacturing, engineering,
quality systems, research and development support, regulatory compliance,
and operational excellence.
- The
ideal candidate must possess strong pharmaceutical industry knowledge,
leadership capacity, and extensive experience in technical and
manufacturing operations.
- The
candidate will act as a vital liaison between technical teams and the
Board of Directors.
Key
Responsibilities
- Provide
strategic direction for all technical and manufacturing operations
- Oversee
production, engineering, maintenance, validation, and technical services
- Ensure
compliance with global regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA) and maintain
high-quality standards including GMP
- Drive
operational efficiency, process optimization, and continuous improvement
initiatives
- Lead
technical project execution, plant expansion, and equipment qualification
activities
- Collaborate
with Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, and Production
departments
- Develop
and implement technical policies, SOPs, and operational strategies
- Ensure
effective resource planning, budgeting, cost management and maintain
external relationships with CROs and CDMOs.
- Mentor
and lead multidisciplinary technical teams to achieve organizational
goals.
Qualifications
and Experience
- Minimum
of a Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry,
Biochemistry, Industrial/Analytical Chemistry, or related Life Science
discipline.
- A
Master’s degree or PhD will be an added advantage.
- Minimum
of 25 - 30 years relevant experience within the pharmaceutical
manufacturing industry and at least 10 - 15 years in senior management or
leadership role
- Strong
knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, GMP, validation, and
regulatory requirements
- Proven
experience in technical operations, process development, engineering
systems, regulatory compliance and fillings (NDA/BLA/MAA), late-stage drug
development, and CMC (Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls)
- Membership
of relevant professional bodies is an added advantage
