Duties
and Responsibilities
- Develop and
implement a comprehensive knowledge management strategy aligned with the
goals and objectives of the public health program.
- Collaborate with
program leadership to integrate knowledge management into organizational
processes and practices.
- Facilitate
collaboration among program staff, partners, and stakeholders to encourage
the exchange of knowledge.
- Collaborate with
subject matter experts to create and curate high-quality content,
including reports, case studies, and best practices.
- Ensure the
accuracy and relevance of information shared through various channels.
- Stay abreast of
advancements in knowledge management technology and recommend tools that
enhance information sharing and collaboration.
- Work with IT
teams to integrate knowledge management systems with existing program
infrastructure.
- Review, update
and track implementation of the communications work plan to enhance the
organizational brand, reach, and visibility.
- Lead the
development of engaging and effective communication media materials for
social and traditional media channels such as press releases, success
stories, social media posts, etc.
- Ensure at least
one success story/testimonial from each programmatic thematic area is
developed, reviewed, edited, and approved every quarter.
- Assist in
organizing communications components of the organization’s events,
workshops, and meetings; including developing event scripts and
coordinating prep sessions, getting graphics designed, setting up digital
infrastructure for events.
- Travel to state
offices for field visits and activities when required and ensure proper
documentation of program activities such as testimonials from
stakeholders, and beneficiaries.
- Provide social
media, website, press, and other digital analytics across communications
channels and recommend adaptations to enhance reach and achieve target
program outcomes.
- Support the
design, proofreading, and editing of programmatic progress reports,
factsheets, and related materials.
- Ensure knowledge
sharing and learning and oversee the development of syntheses and
dissemination of lessons learned from the IRIS project between states and
with external partners.
- Quality assure
program materials developed by state and central office thematic leads,
program partners (e.g. CBOs) to ensure that they are rights-based, of
quality, and aligned with messaging frameworks and strategies.
- Perform any other
tasks assigned by the unit Director, or designate, which are consistent
with this scope of work, and the general requirements of the program.
Required
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
- An Advanced
Degree (M.A., MHS, MPH) in Public Health, Communications, Social Sciences,
or a related area with at least 5 years of significant public health
and/or communication experience.
- Proven experience
in knowledge management/ or communications, preferably in a public health
or healthcare setting is essential.
- Experience
working on, and knowledge of, infectious diseases such as HIV and TB is
highly desirable.
- Experience
working with mass media partners is desirable.
- Ability to think
strategically at a high level.
- Ability to work
collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- An empowering
approach to capacity building and a strong commitment to supporting others
to learn and grow their skills.
- Excellent
interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence and negotiate.
- Excellent verbal
and written communication skills.
- Excellent time
management skills to meet tight deadlines.
