Responsibilities
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for
developing and leading a Loan Servicing team that interfaces with new and
repeat borrowers.
Your primary responsibility will be
ensuring that these borrowers make principal and interest payments on
schedule.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Develop strategy, daily plans and workflow for
the loan servicing team
- Draw up a process for SMS/In app/Social media
repayment messaging response
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc analyses on team
performance and trends in loan servicing
- Drive process improvements and produce regular
reporting on the impact of the servicing team to Branch leadership
- Derive borrower contact lists from our system
using SQL
- Manage any/all in-house or outsourced
collections agencies
- Schedule, capacity plan, hire, and onboard
Servicing Associates (team)
- Conduct regular performance reviews and team
trainings for Servicing Associates
- Research and pilot new best-in-class Standard
Operating Procedures for loan servicing
- Work with the Leads for Credit Fraud and
Customer Service to recommend product changes with aims of improving
borrower experience and driving up repayment rates
- Optimize borrower interaction practices
through automation, testing of timing, content and other factors to
maximize on-time repayment
- Set ambitious goals, closely monitor team KPIs
and regularly make recommendations on hiring and process improvements
- Maintain team documentation
- Investigate suspected fraud and develop processes
to prevent it in the future
- Communicate effectively with data science and
product teams about fraud cases and issues
- Setup and grow call center operations for loan
servicing
This position is based out of our
Nairobi office, which is on Waiyaki way.
There will be a 3 month probationary
period.
Qualifications & Skills
Qualifications & Skills
- Business Degree/Diploma with a mix of I.T is
most desired
- Previous Loan Servicing experience and
understanding of consumer credit behavior
- Experience with SQL is important. If you do
not have SQL experience, then you need to have the ability and desire to
learn it quickly!
- Extremely analytical with expert Excel skills
- Experience or ability to scale a team
- Highly entrepreneurial and comfortable with
ambiguity and taking initiative
- Excellent collaborator and team player
- Deep understanding of successful process
implementation and improvement
