AKF East
Africa is looking for a dynamic Regional
Finance Manager based at its Regional Office in Nairobi.
The
position will report to the Regional Chief Operations Officer and will provide
strategic leadership, ensure effective development of financial strategies,
implementation of sound internal controls, budgeting, financial management, and
reporting; and overall regional finance team leadership.
The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) works in East Africa in pursuing innovative solutions to the seemingly intractable problems that lead to poverty.
AKF is
managing a robust and expanding portfolio of multi-sectoral initiatives that
includes programmes in sustainable economic development, education, early
childhood development, health, nutrition and civil society strengthening.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Lead
and manage the AKF (EA) regional finance function.
- Develop,
strengthen, implement and support financial policies, systems and
procedures that enhance efficiency, effectiveness and accountability.
- Ensure
that high quality management, statutory and donor reports, budgets and any
other required reports/analysis are prepared and submitted within set
timelines.
- Monitor
and track budgetary allocations and expenditures within the region.
- Manage
internal and external audits including donor financial audits.
- Lead
the financial risk management function in the region by carrying out
regular risk analysis and implementing relevant risk mitigation strategies
and processes.
- Demonstrated
ability to mentor and train others in management of financial and
administration systems
- Must
be innovative, organised, methodical with good attention to detail,
ability to work under pressure on multiple task and deliver on deadlines
- Must
be diligent, committed individual with high level of integrity and ability
to work as a team.
Required Qualifications, Experience & Competencies:
- Minimum
of a Bachelor’s degree in finance or equivalent. A master’s degree would
be an added advantage.
- Professional
accounting qualification.
- 10
years of relevant experience
- Good
communication and strong analytical skills
- People
management skills.
- Proficiency
in Microsoft Office Suite
