Our client is a
leading East African investment company listed on the Nairobi Securities
Exchange and cross-listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange and seeks to
recruit a Senior Risk Officer for their Nairobi office.
The overall purpose of the role is to: Develop and Implement the group-wide Risk Management Strategy.
Minimum Requirements

Minimum Requirements
- An undergraduate degree in
Mathematics, Actuarial Science or any business field
- Advanced technical or managerial
credentials such as Actuarial Science, Professional Risk Management
or Financial Risk Management
- Over 6 years or progressive Risk
Management work experience
- Possession of an MBA will be an
added advantage.
Job Specification - Senior Risk Officer
- Design and implement the Group Risk
Management strategy in support of achieving of business objectives.
- Comprehensive reporting and
engagement with stakeholders on the Risk Management Strategy
- Provide business partnership to the
Group senior management on Risk Management and best practise across the
Group.
- Lead and develop the Risk department
team
- Identify emerging risks for the
business and recommend courses of action to improve the conditions,
including special surveys and audits.
- Direct engagement in projects to
ensure that professional standards are maintained in the planning and
execution, and in the accumulation of information.
- Provide and perform research on
engagement techniques
- Edit engagement communications and
discuss the communications with appropriate management.
- Counsel and guide staff to see that
the approved engagement objectives are met and that adequate, practical
coverage is achieved.
- Keep abreast with latest
developments in the quoted private equity, private equity, real estate and
infrastructure fields with a view of enhancing Risk function as a key
contributor to company strategy.
