The Office of the
Governor, Nairobi City County wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons
to fill the following positions as per article 176 of the Constitution of Kenya

Requirements for appointment
i) Be a Kenyan
Citizen.
ii) Be a holder of at
least a first degree from a University recognized in Kenya.
iii) Have knowledge,
experience and a distinguished career of not less than ten years in the
specific area.
iv) Be Computer
literate
v) Must have attended
a course in Management/Strategic Leadership
vi) A relevant
Masters Degree is an added advantage.
vii) Applicants must
be registered with a relevant professional body.
viii) Satisfy the
requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
b)
Duties and responsibilities
The Chief Officer
shall be the authorized officer in respect of exercise of delegated power and
shall be responsible to the respective County Executive Member for:.
i) The Administrative
duties of a County Department.
ii) Implementation of
policies and development plans.
iii) Development and
Implementation of Strategic Plans.
iv) Formulate and
implement effective programs to attain Vision 2030 and sector goals.
v) Promote national
values and principles of government and values and principles of public service
referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
vi) Proven experience
in Public Finance Management.
vii) Other duties as
assigned by the County Governor.
Terms
of Service:
Contract 3 years renewable
Salary
Scale:
Kshs.120, 270 – Kshs.180,660 P.M House Allowance: Kshs.56,000 P.M Commuter
Allowance: Kshs.20,000P.M.
County Secretary

Post)
The County Secretary
shall be the Head of the County Public Service and will be responsible to
Governor for:
Duties
and Responsibilities
i) Secretary to the
County Executive Committee
ii) Coordinate County
state functions
iii) Ensure efficient
management of resources and coordination of County Government activities
iv) Interpret,
disseminate and oversee implementation of National and County Government
policies
v) Communicate and
follow up the decisions of the Executive Committee to the appropriate persons.
vi) Provide direction
and guidance to public officers in the County.
vii) Perform any
other duties as directed by the County Executive Committee.
For
appointment to this position a candidate must:-
i) Be a Kenyan
citizen
ii) Must have work
experience of not less than 15 years; ten of which should be in administration
and management
iii) Have a
Bachelor’s Degree from a University recognized in Kenya
iv) Have a Master’s
Degree in Administration/Management, Human Resource Management / Development
management / strategic management, economics or equivalent qualifications from
a University recognized in Kenya.
v) Must have attended
a course in Strategic Leadership
vi) Be conversant
with Government protocols and etiquette
vii) Be conversant
with the constitution of Kenya and Devolution Acts
viii) Have excellent
Interpersonal, Communication and Report Writing Skills
ix) Proven merit and
ability as reflected in work performance and results
x) Be computer
literate
xi) Proven experience
in Public Finance Management.
xii) Satisfy the
requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution
xiii) Promote
national values and principles of government and values and principles of
public service referred to in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya
2010.
Terms

152,060-302,980p.m. House Allowance: Ksh.70,000p.m. Commuter Allowance: Ksh.
