Broad Function
The Country Manager is responsible for managing the sales team
and ensuring that customer needs are met through optimal availability of
company’s products.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Develop annual
sales targets, budgets and strategic plans and ensure effective budgetary
control
- Develop and
implement sales strategies plans and provide support in marketing
strategies and plans such as promotion – below and above the line
- Ensure that
sales targets are achieved, monitor sales and profits against agreed budget
and where necessary, recommend changes to strategies and support plans
- Design and
manage an appropriate distribution strategy with well elaborated route
plans to ensure adequate market coverage by the sales force
- Input into ideas
on new products for the market
- Analyze
prevailing market trends, market research information obtained from the
sales force and economic factors to provide market feedback for management
decision making
- Ensure brand
profitability through correct pricing policies and product costing
- Establish and
maintain good corporate relations and customer care
- Select, train,
motivate, appraise and develop an effective sales team
Person Specifications
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor of
Science degree Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering
- An MBA would be
an added advantage
- Professional
Qualifications
- Postgraduate
diploma in Marketing or Business Management & Administration
Experience
- At least 7
years’ relevant working experience in sales in FMCG or in electrical
engineering, three of which should be at management level
Skills
- Outgoing
personality
- Good
communication and interpersonal skills
- Team player
- Computer
literacy and familiarity with standard office computer applications.
- Ability to work
under pressure and meet deadlines
