Senior Infrastructure Administrator

USIU is seeking to recruit a qualified candidates for the position of Senior Infrastructure Administrator.
Job Purpose: To manage the effective implementation and maintenance of ICT infrastructure at the University.
Responsibilities:
USIU is seeking to recruit a qualified candidates for the position of Senior Infrastructure Administrator.
Job Purpose: To manage the effective implementation and maintenance of ICT infrastructure at the University.
Responsibilities:
- Design,
implement and maintain voice and data infrastructure across the university
– LAN, Internet Access, Wi-Fi networks, VPN, NAC etc.
- Ensure
communications infrastructure is adequately secured against internal and
external attacks
- Ensure
redundant links and devices operate efficiently in the event of a disaster
- Liaise
with service providers to ensure 99% uptime and access to learning and
research services hosted on campus
- Responsible
for backup and disaster recovery of communications infrastructure systems
and software
- Develop
Standard Operating Procedures to streamline service delivery across the
various equipment platforms the University runs
- Responsible
for the effective operation of the datacenters on the campus
- In
conjunction with the ICT Director, develop annual budgets for the section
in line with the strategic plan
- Managing
a team of infrastructure administrators to deliver projects on a timely
and cost effective manner
- Ensuring
the infrastructure team receive appropriate training to execute their
duties effectively as technology changes
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree
in computer science, electrical engineering or other relevant course from
an accredited university
- Cisco
Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Certified
Ethical Hacker (CEH) or Certified Information Systems Security
Professional (CISSP) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
- At
least three years’ experience maintaining a large 500+ node site
