Job Title: Deputy Director Human Resources & Administration– 1 Post
Reporting To: The Senior Deputy Director Finance & Administration
Essential Job functions
Specifically the Key tasks for this position will include:
- Provide creative
& constructive leadership in the formulation & implementation of
annual budgets, board papers, strategic planning as well as advising the
Board of Directors & Management.
- Oversee; high
disciplinary standards, all recruitment matters, promotions, employee
relations, staff training & development, career planning, succession
management, staff welfare, industrial relations & performance
management.
- Ensuring proper
design, application & maintenance of human resources &
Administration information systems
- Managing the
Human resources & Administration function.
- Develop
innovative remuneration & reward systems that drive appropriate
employee behavior & culture change as well as managing the payroll
- Overseeing the
management of administration services namely, office services, fleet
management, registry services, management of assets & other allied
support functions.
- Formulation,
review & implementation of innovative/progressive human resource
management & administrative policies, procedures & processes.
- Ensuring proper
implementation of staff welfare benefits e.g. superannuation schemes,
medical schemes, insurance covers, leave benefits, gratuity etc.
- Liaise with line
managers to understand their business strategy & workforce
requirements as well as provide leadership & guidance in technical
areas to improve the quality of staff performance, increase motivation,
ensure transparency & fairness in human capital management.
- Administration
of staff exits & ensures that all proper procedures are followed at
the end of contractual relationships with staff.
Qualifications, experience & key competencies
- Postgraduate
degree in any of the following fields: Business Administration or Human
resource or Public Administration, Management science, Strategic
management, or equivalent qualification from an accredited university
- Undergraduate
degree in Human resource management or equivalent qualification from an
accredited university
- Holder of a
diploma in Human resource management or its equivalent qualification from
an accredited institution
- A minimum of
eight (8) years practicing human capital management with at least three
(3) years in a senior position / manager in a large reputable organisation
with exposure to human resource labour laws.
- Registered
member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) or Kenya
Institute of Management (KIM) or an equivalent recognized professional
association,
- Hands on
experience & exposure to performance management, ISO Quality Standards
& behavior-based selection methods,
- Have well
developed communication, interpersonal & facilitation skills with
strong motivational, mentorship & team building approaches,
- Knowledge &
understanding of current best practices in human capital management with
wide experience in formulation & implementation of Human capital
policies & strategies,
- Proficiency in
various electronic systems including but not limited to Ms Office, Oracle,
and Ms Navision.
- Excellent
ability to explain complicated technical aspects in a clear, correct &
concise manner to non-technical users.
- Ability to
freely share information with others & collaborate within a high
performance multidisciplinary team,

- As pilot in
command, operates single-engine and multi-engine airplane in support of
field missions, including specialized maneuvers including fire fighting,
transport, air support, surveillance, mountain flying, patrol, pursuit,
search and rescue, medical evacuations and aerial photography.
- Inspects and
tests aircraft and all mission-related equipment as well as maintaining
written reports, logs and records as required,
- Schedules flight
plans in connection with flight; missions, passengers, passengers baggage
and cargo, and analyzes weather conditions.
- Operates
aircraft tug, tractor, and/or ground handling equipment.
- Coordinates
aircraft ground handling procedures, maintenance, test flight procedures,
pilot training programs and maintains training records.
- Administers
aircraft systems and operations, aerial navigation and maintenance
regarding normal operating procedures, limitations, emergency procedures.
- Oversees basic
maintenance of aircraft, unit quarters and hangar.
Qualifications, experience & key competencies
- Must possess a
valid Kenya Commercial Pilot License (CPL), Multi-Engine Rating (MER) and
Instrument Rating (IR) licenses.
- Must have over
two thousand (2,000) hours total Flight Time
- Must have over
two hundred (200) hours Total Night Time
- Must have over
three hundred (300) hours on the Cessna grand caravan 208b troupe carrier
fixed wing aircraft
- At least five
hundred (500) hours logged in the preceding six (6) months
- Able to work
independently, prioritize flight missions & perform operations under
highly stressful or emergency conditions
- Should possess a
current medical certificate from authorized Civil Aviation Medical
examiner
- Certificate of
good conduct
- Must have the
flexibility to work any hours including weekends, holidays, rotating
shifts, call-outs and overtime in varying climatic conditions &
weather conditions.
Job Title: Remote Sensing Technician – 2 Posts

- Maintenance of
remote sensed data for forest cover monitoring system
- Analyzing
remotely sensed data for detecting forest cover changes and forest health
- Archiving and
retrieval of remote sensed data
- Produce
periodical updates of forest cover and forest cover change (change
detection)
- Facilitate
linkages with other institutions in the sub-sector
- Advising on the
acquisition of remote sensing data
Qualifications, experience & key competencies
- Diploma in
either forestry, Survey, cartography, Geo-informatics or equivalent with
over forty (40) hours module on Geo-Informatics, or Remote Sensing from an
accredited educational institution
- A minimum of two
(2) years of working experience in application of remote sensing
technology in the field of forest resources assessment or (Natural
Resources Management) in a large reputable organization,
- Practical
experience in use of Remote Sensing software applications in natural
resource assessment and/or monitoring is an added advantage.
- Good knowledge
of Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry and related technologies such as Global
Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS),
- Ability to
process and appropriately display remotely sensed data;

various computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft
Office, ERDAS, IDRISI; MADCAT etc

resources maps
- Liaise with
other stakeholders in the field

- Diploma in

- A Higher Diploma
in MIS
- At least one (1)
years experience in MIS work in a large public or private organization
- Practical
experience in use Database Management Systems
- Basic knowledge
on programming and web applications
- Proficiency with
various computer applications including but not limited to Microsoft
Access, Excel, visual basic etc
