The ACHA Platform (ACHAP) is a faith based international NGO
registered in Kenya with a secretariat based in Nairobi with a mandate of
networking, advocacy and capacity building for Christian /Church health
organizations in Africa.
ACHAP wishes to recruit a project coordinator and an M&E Officer for a 3-year Family Planning project funded by the Packard Foundation that will be implemented in Kenya and Uganda in conjunction with CHAK and the Uganda Protestant Medical Bureau (UPMB) and with plans for future scale-up among other ACHAP member organizations in Africa.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya but with field travel in Kenya and Uganda
Project Coordinator – Family Planning Project - ACHAP
Job Purpose:
The incumbent will provide leadership and technical assistance
to the ACHA Platform FP project in Kenya and Uganda to ensure capacity building
and long-term sustainability of effective Family Planning initiatives and
programs among ACHAP member institutions.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Family
Planning project management.
- Coordinate
communication with partners and project sites.
- In
collaboration with field programs, design/adapt training materials and
facilitate training of health workers.
- Provide
technical oversight for field programs through M&E and supportive
supervision.
- Provide
support to field project activities through mentorship.
- Ensure
effective supply chain for FP commodities in field.
- Responsible
for quality M&E and timely reporting.
- Responsible
for communication and information sharing with partners and among
Christian Health Associations.
- Represent
the project and the ACHA Platform in meetings with partners, MOH and other
key stakeholders.
Qualifications and Competencies:
- A
Masters degree in Public Health or in Population related fields and a
Bachelors degree in a health related field.
- At
least five years experience in implementing Reproductive Health/Family
Planning projects in sub-Saharan Africa especially in Kenya and Uganda.
- Strong
project management, M&E, research skills, knowledge of US grant management
and strong advocacy, collaboration and networking skills.
- Experience
with faith-based health institutions in Africa preferred.
Project Monitoring & Evaluation Officer
Purpose:
To provide technical support in the planning and implementation
of monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities within the ACHAP Family
Planning projects coordinated by the Africa Christian Health Associations
Platform in Kenya and Uganda in coordination with the relevant stakeholders,
government departments and ministries responsible for health in Kenya and
Uganda.
