Vice Chancellor
Kiriri Women’s University of Science and Technology (Kwust) is a
women’s university that recognizes the need to create a centre of academic
excellence in its teaching, learning and research, this knowledge and training
attained will enable the young women to innovatively contribute at the
national, regional and international levels.
preferably a member of the catholic church, to take up the position of Vice Chancellor.
The person appointed will head a team of both academic and
administrative staff to steer its future growth.
Job Profile
Reporting to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees the successful candidate shall be responsible for:-
- The implementation
of the university’s Strategic Plan.
- Be Chairlady to
the University Senate and thus steer the development and implementation of
academic programmes.
- Be Chairlady to
the University Management Board thereby steer the administrative affairs
of the University.
- Be Secretary to
the Board of Trustees and Governing Council thus advising them on the
development needs of the university including methods of resource
mobilization, students and staff facilities and welfare, human resource
mobilization and growth in student enrolment.
- Creation and
maintenance of linkages with other institutions of higher learning and
other bodies to ensure that the university is in tandem with both the
academic world and the world of work.
- Any other
functions that will ensure the growth and development of the university
and the university community.
Person Profile
- She must be a
holder of Ph.D degree or its equivalent.
- She must have at
least 5-8 years of both senior academic and administrative experience in
an institution of higher learning.
- She must have
proven leadership and inter-personal skills.
- She must be
knowledgeable in strategic planning and management of a complex
educational institution.
- She must be a
person of high integrity, moral standing and high ethical standards.
- She must be ICT
literate.
- Associate
Professor or Full Professor shall be an added advantage.
