African Touch Safaris is a
tours and travel company based in Nairobi Kenya is looking to recruit a Tour Consultant.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responding to enquiries regarding Proposals, Quotations, Destinations &
safaris within 24hrsDuties and Responsibilities
Prepare itineraries to the
various destinations of interest
Handle
Processing of VISAs of various world countries
Ensuring payment for each tour booking is received in advance or proper authorization is received from a client, or a corporate prior to credit sale
Ensuring payment for each tour booking is received in advance or proper authorization is received from a client, or a corporate prior to credit sale
Creating contact with
hotels, car hire, sightseeing attraction and other service providers for best
competitive contract rates in the other countries and travel destinations.
Ensuring the rates files
are orderly & up to date
Ensure bookings that do not
mature are cancelled in time to avoid cancellation penalties especially for
hotels and flights
Ensure quality and minimize
customer complains
Ensure clients’ special
requests especially on accommodation & room specification, driver guide
language, meals and others are pre-arranged. Being on standby ready to provide
solutions in case of mishaps during trip
Coordinating with travel
consultants to arrange flying & ground packages
Opening client tour files
for upcoming tours especially groups
Making follow-ups for tour
quotations
Ensuring that tours
quotations are competitive inclusions, exclusions as well as terms &
conditions of a quotation should be highlighted to reduce disputes with clients
Advising clients about passports, vaccinations, visas, foreign currency, travel insurance, etc.
The lady / gentlemen must possess the following qualities:

- Be smartly
dressed and presentable
- Have an
excellent command of the English Language
- Must be
articulate and well spoken, confident
- Must be
organized, highly efficient, reliable and diligent
- Must have
excellent international tours and VISA processing knowledge
- Must be able
to work in a busy environment under minimal supervision
- Must possess
a strong sense of reliability and perfection
- Must be self
driven and willing to learn.
- Must be
willing to work under pressure.
Minimum Job Specification:
- Degree/diploma
in Tour Operations.
- At least 3
years experience in a similar position.
- Meeting
sales targets.
- Have good
marketing skills.
