Design Engineer
Reporting to the Head of our Engineering Division, the
successful candidate will be responsible for developing new products and the
production of systems.
The design engineer will also work towards improving the
efficiency and performance of existing designs, machinery, equipments, systems
and products.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research
to promote innovations and cost effective production processes.
- Research on
materials, processes to address market requirements.
- Turning research
ideas into viable technical plans that will meet customer needs and
specifications.
- Producing
technical plans using CAD software and working with prototypes .
- Modifying
designs and re-testing the same to ensure that the product is right and
ready for manufacturing or fabrication where need be.
- Reporting which
will include making presentation with regard to progress on specific
projects and to existing and potential clients.
- Visiting
supplier locations to identify suitability and availability of materials
for production requirements.
- Meeting with
clients to establish the design brief, including the concept, performance
and production criteria;
- Arranging
meetings and liaising with engineers and other departments, including
marketing, to discuss and negotiate appropriate production processes,
costs and commercial issues;
- Environmental
assessment - taking into account the environmental impact of new products
and their manufacturing processes and how they would be safely disposed
of.
- Ensure company
compliance to the legal stipulations in manufacturing and other quality
and production guidelines.
- Ensure adherence
to safety and maintenance regulations and the mechanical effect that the
product will have on the consumer and other agents.
- Provide timely
input in project bid processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- University
degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical, product, industrial or
materials.
- 7 years
engineering experience preferably in the automotive industry or fabrication.
- Effective
communicator with proven management, organizational and people management
skills.
- Flair for detail

Quality Engineer
Reporting to the Head of our Engineering Division, and working in
liaison with the design engineer, the
successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high quality standards of products throughout the
various stages of production.

The position is tasked with ensuring customer satisfaction
thereby impacting on the business performance of the Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote quality
and performance improvement.
- Develop,
implement, communicate and maintain a quality plan for use in the
division.
- Establish and
maintain company compliance to national and international standards,
regulations, and requirements.
- Ensure that the
quality plan is in line with quality systems and policies as well and
legislative requirements.
- Determine,
define and validate the quality requirements for the various stages of
production.
- Liaising with
customers to ensure that accurate information on their products
requirements.
- Work closely
with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external
suppliers.
- Ensure that
product modifications are investigated and any solutions are pre tested at
all stages before the product is delivered to a customer.
- Maintain and
track quality for the purposes of analysis, control, and management
reports.
- Review data and
information and make accept/reject decisions about products, processes,
validations, etc.
- Investigate
product defects, any rejects and systems failures with emphasis on
corrective action. Provide hands-on leadership to implement failure
analysis and corrective actions
- Provide quality
training to production staff as needed and on a continuous basis.
- Review existing
production methods and systems and make recommendations for improving
product quality, design, or manufacturing processes.
- Serve as a team
member to provide quality engineering expertise to product development,
improvement, or other teams.
- Design earlier
failure warning system and hazard analysis for company projects.
- Supervise
quality assurance engineers, inspectors, or other personnel.
Qualifications & Experience
- University
degree in Engineering, preferably mechanical, civil, product, industrial
or materials.
- Post graduate
qualification in quality control or quality management is a must have.
- 5 years working
experience in Quality Assurance, preferably in consumer product
manufacturing firm.
- Demonstrated
experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
- Effective
communicator with proven management, organizational and people management
skills.
Logistics Manager
Based in the Logistics Department, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that high levels
of efficiency are maintained within the supply chain and assist in cross functional levels to ensure optimization
of the complete value chain.
The incumbent will also be tasked with increasing efficiency in
the department ensuring that the perceived customer value of the Company brands
is maximized.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise,
coordinate and manage all the activities in the logistics department.
- Liaising with
the local and overseas suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders.
- Verification and
authorization of orders placed on suppliers, bodybuilders and dealers
based on agreed rates.
- Preparation of
inventory management reports indicating inventory figures as well as all
vehicles on order.
- Producing
regular stock availability reports to the divisions.
- Producing stock
financing report.
- Liaising,
negotiating and managing supplier contract with service providers.
- Verification and
authorization of freight and clearing invoices.
- Monitoring the
quality, quantity, cost and efficiency of the movement and storage of
vehicles.
- Coordinating and
controlling the order cycle under prevailing market conditions.
- Oversee the
transmissions of VOR orders.
- Analysing data
to monitor and forecast performance and plan improvements and demand.
- Analysing logistical
problems and producing new solutions
- Approve IDF
applications / CRF procurement.
- Preparing yearly
budgets for the logistics department.
- Coordinate
clearing activities and delivery of materials and products to the
divisions.
- Coordinate with
Finance department with regard to payment arrangements.
- Coordinate
vehicle exportations outside the country.
- Follow up on
shipment requisitions and liaise with clearing agents to ensure prompt
delivery of units.
- Monitoring Bond
Management and Register reports.
- Monitor the
development and training of staff in the logistics department.
- Monitoring Duty
Refund Reports to assess risk levels.
- Preparation and
presentation of logistical matters to dealers.
- Execute custom
bond securities and retirement of the same.
- Follow up on
marine insurance claims.
- Participate at
quality management meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
- University
degree in Business Studies.
- Diploma in
Clearing & Forwarding from Bandari College or a recognized
institution. (mandatory requirement).
- 5 years working
experience in a busy logistics department at management level.
- Expert knowledge
of customs and excise statutory laws and requirements.
- Effective
communicator with proven management, organizational and people management
skills.
- Flair for
details with a touch of organization.
