The Anti-Counterfeit Agency was established under the
Anti-Counterfeit Act 2008 as a State Corporation with the mandates to enlighten
and inform the public on matters relating to counterfeiting, combat
counterfeiting, trade and other dealings in counterfeit goods, devise and
promote training programs to combat counterfeiting and co-ordinate with
national, regional or international organizations involved in combating
counterfeiting.

Purpose of the Job: Reporting
to the Assistant Director – Human Resource and Administration, the holder will
assist in providing effective leadership in the management of the Human
Resources and administration functions.
Key Responsibilities
·
Assess training needs and develop training and development
programmes aimed at building staff capacity to achieve desired performance
levels;
·
Administer compensation, benefits and performance management
systems aimed at increasing productivity in the Agency
·
Ensure compliance with statutory safety, health and
environmental standard in the work place.
·
Maintain comprehensive records and compile statistical reports
concerning personnel related data such as hires, transfers, performance
appraisals, etc;
·
Develop and manage staff welfare schemes such medical, insurance
etc;
·
Advise managers on organizational policy matters like equal
employment opportunity, sexual harassment and recommend changes;
·
Review policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure compliance
with labour laws;
·
Planning, directing and coordinating the administrative
functions and support services of the Agency including security, transport
management, cleaning services and varied insurances.

Job Specification

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Business
Administration
·
Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management or other equivalent
postgraduate qualifications
·
Membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management

Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience, two (2) of
which must be in similar or comparable position.
·
Competence in use of ICT and a Human Resource Information
system.

Purpose of the Job
The Principal Legal Officer is responsible to the Deputy
Director - Enforcement and Legal Services for the effective management of legal
matters in the Agency.
Key Responsibilities
·
Supervising all staff in the Legal Services division.
·
Developing and reviewing on a continuous basis the training
policies for legal staff to ensure relevance and adherence to the laid down
official policies and guidelines.
·
Preparing requisite documents and attending law court
proceedings;
·
Advising the Agency on compliance with the Act, and other
relevant laws;
·
Liaising with external lawyers on litigation and other legal
matters;
·
Developing and reviewing training programmes for legal officers
;
·
Compiling annual reports and statistics for the division;
·
Initiating the drafting, reviewing and revision of legislation;
·
Performing any other duty as may be assigned by management.
Job Specification
·
Served for at least three (3) years in the grade of chief legal
officer or a comparable position for at least three (3) years;
·
A Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university;
·
A postgraduate diploma in law from the Kenya School of Law;
·
Have been admitted to the Roll of Advocates, with at least
six(6) years active and uninterrupted post admission experience in legal
practice
·
A Master’s degree in Law, or any other social science from a
recognized institution. Specialization in criminal law or intellectual property
law is an added advantage.

A current practising certificate;

A certificate in computer applications;

Key Responsibilities

Documenting legal activities and maintaining an up-to-date legal
actions and issues database for quick reference and guide to management;

Participating in drawing and vetting commercial contracts,
leases and other legal instruments;
·
Handling correspondences on legal aspects and recommending
appropriate legal actions;
·
Providing legal advice to the Agency;
·
Attending court to file litigation documents and representing
the Agency as may be required;
·
Supporting investigations and maintaining active liaison with
security agencies to conclude investigations
·
Perform any other duty as may be assigned by management.
