Head Chef (1 opening)
Job Purpose Summary: To provide chef services to at IU House kitchen, a top notch restaurant
Key Responsibilities


·                     Oversee kitchen and prepare the correct quantities of high quality meals
·                     Train cooks, assign duties and responsibilities to ensure high performance
·                     Oversee correct portioning of food during service
·                     Expand menu offering as appropriate to provide diverse high quality dishes and should create almost anything on the menu and change if needed
·                     Ensure recipes are followed with the correct quantities of ingredients used
·                     Work with the manager to develop menus and new recipes
·                     Assist in planning and managing special functions
·                     Maintain all cleanliness and high hygiene standards in the kitchen and around
Qualifications
·                     Must hold a degree/diploma from a recognized institution
·                     Well versed, knowledgeable and experienced in food production (over 2 yrs)
·                     Has experience cooking for large groups and has cooked food for westerners
·                     Ability to cook variety and diverse high quality menus understands what a vegetarian is and can plan a variety of vegetarian menus
·                     Innovative, flexible, dynamic and ability to work, control and account for all food inventories
·                     Informed on cleanliness, health and hygiene issues (HACCP), etc among others
·                     Hold valid medical certificates as required

Terms of Employment

The successful candidate will be employed on a 1-year renewable contract terms with a
competitive salary and allowances.
