Our client, full-service regional banking institution with
operations in close to 30 countries on the continent looking to fill the
position of Human Resource Specialist – Training and
Development for its operations in East Africa. Reporting to the Head
of Human Resources East Africa job holder will provide leadership in the areas
of learning and development, performance management, talent retention and
succession planning.
Based in Nairobi, Kenya the key accountabilities for this role are:
* Maintain an updated talent map of the organization,
analyzing the organizations capability to Based in Nairobi, Kenya the key accountabilities for this role are:
sustain itself by defining desired skills and competencies over the short and medium term and vis-a-vis actual skill and documenting the gap.
* Working with line managers undertake a training needs analysis, and determine and collate the learning and development interventions required to address the identified gaps.
* Research, develop, design and recommend in-house /external learning and development interventions, management and leadership programs, technical programs that address the learning and development gaps identified.
* Coordinate the delivery of all learning and development initiatives. Develop a database of external providers to deliver programs and evaluate their performance. Facilitate some in-house programs such as induction programs, etc.
* Carry out post-training evaluations to assess whether the gaps identified in the TNA have been addressed
* Review and standardize job profiles and descriptions in the region and update them as may be required. Ensure all employees have updated job profiles.
* Work with line managers to ensure that the performance management process is aligned to job, departmental, and business objectives. Collate and analyze all the performance management documentation to ensure the process supports the development of high performance culture.
* Manage the process of succession planning. With line managers identifying critical positions and possible successors to ensure continuity of business.
* Provide advice and support to line managers on HR issues that arise in day- to- day business operation.
Minimum Requirements: The ideal candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications and competencies:
* At least 4 years of progressively responsibility related experience in the area of training, learning and development, and performance management, in a professional commercial environment with a strong customer-service oriented culture.
* Degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline coupled with a diploma in Human resources management from reputed institute.
* Strong communication, interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to build strong working relationships with management and employees.
* Strong analytical, sound planning and organizing skills.
* Good team player who is energetic, results-oriented and customer-focused.
* Proactive and ability to work independently in a fast paced environment.
* Computer-literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
The package for this position starts at KShs 180,000 gross per month plus benefits, negotiable based on experience and demonstrable contribution.
