Construction Manager Job Vacancy Kenya.

Our client is a real estate development company that was established in 2006. They develop exclusive (residential) real estates. The company is currently looking for a Construction Manager. 

The main focus of the Construction Manager (“CM”) will be to supervise the construction of Mandharini, a large resort in Kilifi Kenya. Mandharini will be built by a Contractor. The CM will oversee the construction
 
process and will be our eyes and ears on the site.
 

The CM responsibilities will span a broad spectrum covering all aspects that involve the construction of Mandharini. The CM will be based in Kilifi and will report to the Directors. The CM job is a high pressure job as the CM is accountable for completion of projects in specified time without crossing the budgetary limits.
 
Role Responsibilities
The Construction manager will be responsible for:
Overseeing the construction project from start to finish in all its aspects
Ensuring that construction activities are completed according to schedule
Quality management
Cost management
Contract administration
Serving as the key link between HP and the contractor
Coordinating the efforts of HP, the contractor and the project advisors
Providing periodical status reports to the Directors detailing the progress of the project in all its aspects
Ensuring all project documents are complete and update when needed
Identifying the elements of project design and construction likely to give rise to disputes and claims
Developing of effective communication mechanisms and mechanisms for resolving conflicts between the various participants
Managing an assistant.
Experience, Knowledge and skills required:
A construction related (bachelors) degree. A post graduate degree in construction management is an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years of experience in large scale construction projects
Knowledge of legal issues regarding the construction contract
Experience in the cost management (Quantity Surveying) aspects of a construction project
Excellent skills in MS Word, Excel and extensive experience in reading construction drawings and Bills of Quantity.

The Construction Manager needs to have the following attributes:

Leadership skills to lead the consultants team and the management assistant
Strong personality that has authority and will actively stand for Hello Properties interests
Analytical personality with logical decision making abilities
Strong focus on quality and detail
Capacity to handle pressure
Willingness to live in Kilifi and travel as requested
