Who we are
Oxfam is a worldwide organisation that works with over 1,000 partners in more than 70 countries to overcome poverty and suffering. Oxfam GB has been working in. South Sudan for more than 20 years and has played a pivotal role in delivering emergency response alongside longer-term development assistance.
The Programme is currently implementing Public Health and Livelihoods in Upper Nile and Lakes States and has an Emergency Preparedness and response team that operates across the all the ten states. To strengthen and lead the support function in the programme work Oxfam GB is looking for a highly innovative and motivated individual to work as a Business Support Manager based in Juba.
About the Role
The Business Support Manager will take responsibility for provision of overview and strategic management across programme support.
This includes managing the work of funding administration, finance, information technology & systems, logistics teams as well as ensuring that Opal and Crimson are in order, coordinated and that programme support services are aligned to the country programme. You will ensure that the programme is efficient and complies with all organisational standards of management and accountability.
The post holder will foster effective links between programmes and support services to ensure seamless coordination and support to programme management. In addition you will identify and coordinate appropriate training for staff and partners in the areas of financial management, human sources, logistics and including effective programming. In liaison with Programme Team, you will develop partnership strategy that takes forward the change strategy and translate local use of the new global partnership policy.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who has vision .and imagination and who is able to inspire the team and partners to contribute to that vision for pro poor change as well as the practical streak and excellent networking and communication skill that are required to take the vision forward.
This is a high profile and demanding role with tremendous scope for making change happen. You must have previous work experience of programme service management (human resources, finance, capital assets, information management and logistics) in emergency and/or development context in an International setting. This must be complemented by excellent leadership skills. You will have well-developed interpersonal and cross-cultural skills and demonstrable ability to be flexible in demanding situations. An excellent oral and written communications skill in English is essential.
