Job Description

  • The Personal Assistant to the COO (Accountant) will provide high-level administrative, financial and analytical support to the Chief Operating Officer.
  • The role requires an individual with a strong accounting background who can support the COO in reviewing financial information, tracking operational expenditure, preparing reports and coordinating day-to-day executive activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and accounting support to the COO.
  • Prepare, review and organize financial reports, expense schedules, reconciliations and other financial documentation.
  • Monitor budgets, expenditure, payment requests and financial commitments as assigned.
  • Assist with financial analysis and preparation of management reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate the COO’s meetings, appointments, correspondence and follow-up actions.
  • Prepare presentations, reports, spreadsheets and briefing documents.
  • Liaise with the Finance/Accounts department and other business units on behalf of the COO.
  • Track assigned operational and financial deliverables and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Handle confidential financial and executive information with discretion.
  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned by the COO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • 3–5 years’ relevant experience in accounting, finance, executive support or a similar role.
  • Professional accounting qualification or progress towards ICAN/ACCA will be an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, confidentiality and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel.
