Job Title: Head Accountant – Hospitality

Job
Description
- The
Head Accountant will lead the accounting function of the hospitality
operation and will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting,
controls, revenue reconciliation, cash management and regulatory
compliance.
Key
Responsibilities
- Oversee
daily accounting and financial operations.
- Prepare
monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts.
- Review
daily revenue reports and reconcile revenue from relevant operational
outlets.
- Monitor
cash, bank and POS transactions and ensure timely reconciliations.
- Oversee
accounts payable, receivables and supplier reconciliations.
- Prepare
budgets, forecasts and cash-flow projections.
- Monitor
expenditure against approved budgets and investigate significant
variances.
- Ensure
accurate recording of revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities.
- Implement
and maintain effective internal financial controls.
- Coordinate
inventory and stock-related financial controls with relevant departments.
- Ensure
timely statutory deductions, tax filings and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate
internal and external audits.
- Supervise
and develop members of the Accounts team.
- Prepare
financial analysis and reports for management decision-making.
- Identify
opportunities for cost control and improved financial efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s
degree/HND in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- ICAN,
ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum
of 5 years’ progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or
managerial responsibility.
- Previous
accounting experience within the hotel or hospitality industry is highly
desirable.
- Strong
knowledge of revenue reconciliation, cost control, budgeting and financial
reporting.
- Good
understanding of Nigerian taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
- Proficiency
in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong
leadership and people-management skills.
- Excellent
analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- High
level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
Salary
N500,000
monthly.
