L&Z Integrated Farms Nigeria Limited incorporated in Nigeria on November 11, 2008, is located in Kano State, as an integrated dairy producer and processor that produce variant of Yoghurts, Fresh milk, Fura Da Nono, Greek Yoghurts, Satchet Yoghurt and Ice cream. L&Z has established a strong brand in the Nigerian dairy sector; standing out as an indigenous player with good quality dairy products and significant local presence across all six (6) geopolitical zones in Nigeria.
The Farm owns a large herd of cows (a cross breed of Frisian and local cows - Sokoto Gudali), which produces an average yield of 7- 8 litres per cow/day in contrast to 0.69 litres per cow/day from the indigenous breed. Similarly, the Company is an indigenous market leader in the production and processing of drinking yoghurt and sources 90% of its raw milk from local pastoralists across the milk collection centres strategically located in Kano State. Job Title: Area Sales Manager

Job Summary
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales performance, expanding market share, and ensuring availability of the company’s products across the North East States.
The role involves overseeing distributor and retail networks, managing sales executives, effective execution of sales and marketing strategies, and maintaining strong customer and distributor relationships to achieve set business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Target Achievement:
Drive and achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets within assigned sales territory.
Implement effective route-to-market strategies to maximize product penetration.
Timely dissemination of the Monthly Sales target to the Sales team and Trade Partners
Territory & Market Development:
Identify and develop new business opportunities across all channels (retail, wholesale, institutional) to increase market share
Monitor and analyze sales performance, market trends, competitor activities, and economic factors affecting the region.
Conduct regular field visits to support the sales team and gain market insights.
Ensure effective execution of Distribution/placement strategies, Trade promotions, product launches, and pricing strategies.
Distributor & Customer Relationship Management:
Manage and support distributors to ensure adequate stock levels, prompt payments, and compliance with company terms.
Build long-term relationships with key accounts, retailers, and bulk buyers.
Build and maintain strong customer relationships and resolve customer complaints promptly.
Organize periodic Trade Partners forum and send report to Management
Sales Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and supervise Sales Representatives, Merchandisers, and other field sales staff.
Monitor performance, set targets, and conduct regular coaching sessions.
Trade Marketing Execution:
Ensure visibility and brand presence through merchandising, in-store displays, and promotional activities.
Monitor and report on the effectiveness of trade promotions and activations.
Reporting & Compliance:
Prepare and submit accurate sales, stock, and market activity reports in line with company requirements.
Provide regular feedback to senior management on market dynamics and competitor activities.
Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, pricing guidelines.
Any other responsibility assigned by the Regional Sales Manager or Head of Department
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Achievement of sales volume and value targets in the North East region.
Increase in customer base and improved market share.
Distributor performance (sales growth, payment compliance, stock availability).
Execution of merchandising and promotional standards.
Retention and performance of sales team members.
Working Conditions:
Field-based with frequent travel across North East states (Bauchi, Gombe, Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Taraba).
May require extended hours and weekend work to meet business demands.
Requirements
Education:
B.Sc./HND in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
Certification (indicate N/A if not required)
Minimum of 5 years’ FMCG sales experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/management role.
Experience in dairy, beverage, or other fast-moving consumer goods is an advantage.
Proven record of achieving sales targets and managing teams in challenging markets.
Experience:
3- 5 years’ FMCG sales experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory/management role.
