- To
examine eyes, using observation & instruments to determine visual
acuity and perception.
- Resolving
screening issues, knowledge of use of equipment and clinical experience
- Responsible
for keeping work commitments in a timely manner.
- Prescribe
eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications
- Provide
treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation
- Provide
pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery—for
example, examining a patient’s eyes the day after surgery
- Evaluate
patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer patients
to other healthcare providers as needed
- Promote
eye health by counseling patients, including explaining how to clean and
wear contact lenses
Desired key
skills:
- Diploma
/ Degree in optometry from a recognized institution
- Knowledge
and experience in the use of advanced optical equipment.
- Be
able to test and analyze the results.
- Responsible
individual, exhibiting discipline and integrity.
- A
quick learner, adaptable and able to work well under pressure.
- Good
organization and administrative skills.
- Excellent
attention to detail.
- 1-
2 years of experience in the field
- Fluent
communication skills.
- Good
presentation skills.
- Confident
and articulate.
Career
Position: Radiographer
Location: Kisii
Reports to: Deputy Director of Clinical
Services
Work Type: Contract Renewable
Duties and
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Review
and evaluate developed x-rays, video tape, or computer generated
information to determine if images are satisfactory for diagnostic
purposes.
- Use
radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with government
regulations and to ensure safety of patients and staff.
- Explain
procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during scan.
- Operate
or oversee operation of radiologic and magnetic imaging equipment to
produce images of the body for diagnostic purposes.
- Position
and immobilize patient on examining table.
- Position
imaging equipment and adjust controls to set exposure time and distance,
according to specification of examination.
Job
Requirement
- Diploma/degree
holder in Medical Imaging/Radiography
- Registered
radiologic technologist
- 2
years experience in Diagnostic Imaging, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI),
Ultrasounds, X-rays, Radiation Protection , Film Evaluation
- Computed
Tornography (CT) scan knowledge is an added advantage
- Computer
literate
- Good
interpersonal and communication skills.
