Head of Programmes Job in Nairobi Kenya

Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) is a National Organization founded in 1912 whose purpose is to develop the leadership and collective power of women and girls to achieve social and economic empowerment, human rights, health, security, dignity, freedom, justice and peace for all humanity.

The Association invites application for the position of 
Head of Programmes for its Head Office. 

The successful candidate will be based at the Head Office in Nairobi and will report to the National General Secretary.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Developing a strategy for the programme department in line with the overall organization strategic plan
  • Planning and coordination of related projects for the head office and branches
  • Resource mobilization for YWCA programme interventions
  • Ensuring implementation of programme strategic plans and policies of the organization
  • Membership recruitment, development and engagement
  • Increase visibility of YWCA programmes
  • Develop a programme evaluation framework to assess the strengths of the programes and identify areas for improvement
  • Write monthly, quarterly& annual progress and evaluation reports on the programmes for management and partners
  • Monitor programme activities on a regular basis and conduct an annual evaluation according to the program evaluation framework
  • Mentor, train and coach the programme officers
  • Supervise the programme staff  by providing direction, input and feedback.
Minimum Requirements
  • B.A. (Sociology / Community Development / Business studies / Development Studies)
  • Five (5) years relevant experience in a Management position, experience with NGO implementing Community Development Programmes
  • Masters Degree in any of the above disciplines is an added advantage
  • Good IT and Report writing skills

  • Computer Literate with excellent working knowledge of word processing MS PowerPoint
  • Very good Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent Communication, Planning and Organizational Skills
  • Good Report Writing and Analytical Skills
