Chief Accountant Job Vacancy in Kenya

Our client, a growing Agricultural Company, is looking for a Chief Accountant. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the finance department and will be reporting to the CFO. 

MUST have experience in the agricultural sector. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, examine, or analyse accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
  • Review taxes owed and tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting or other tax requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyse budgets.
  • Preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs.
  • Scheduling expenditures, analysing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Prepare annual returns and yearly audited accounts.
  • Analyse business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to provide advice.
Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in accounting or management & business administration.
  • CPA (K) or ACCA required.
  • 8+ years experience in the agricultural sector as an accountant is a MUST.
  • Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-pace setting.
  • Experience with Quickbooks or other large automated accounting systems is a plus.
  • Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills required.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required.
  • Experience in international import/export is a MUST.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
Monthly gross salary: Ksh. 250,000 - 300,000/= (Approx. 2,500 - 3,000 USD) depending on experience
