Reporting to Head – Sourcing & Facilities Management, the role holder will be responsible for competitive acquisition of quality goods and services, proper dispatch while ensuring cost control and good suppliers’ relationship.
 
The Role
 
Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:
  • Develop and manage the Banks’ purchasing policies, procedures, standards, and strategies in order to ensure process transparency, fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality.
  • Plan, organize, direct, manage, and evaluate the purchasing activities and the budget of the Bank.
  • Maintain an interface with vendors and service providers to ensure that all requirements meet established standards and that applicable guidelines, policies and procedures are understood and followed throughout the procurement process.
  • Support the business in establishing reasonable consumption levels, querying abnormal patterns to ensure costs are managed properly.
  • Survey the market for latest trends in price, availability, delivery and quality to ensure quality control and profitability.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities support and strengthen the strategic objectives of the Bank.
  • Manage and attend to all sourcing and purchasing requests to ensure that service providers efficiently deliver to specifications and in line with policies.
  • Review and assess total supply chain risk and identify opportunities to minimize and eliminate risk.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to ensure that the commercial terms of all contract agreements bank wide have adequately covered the bank’s interest and are in line with banks’ policy.
  • Co-ordinate the internal monitoring and evaluation of the procurement function to ensure compliance with procurement laws, regulations and practices.
Skills, Competencies and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Procurement/Purchasing and Supply or any other related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in procurement at managerial level.
  • Must possess professional qualifications in Purchasing and Supply Management from the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply Management/registered member of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management.
  • Must have experience/knowledge in clearing and forwarding and international trade/procurement.
  • Ability to understand and apply Procurement Best Practice and develop a strategic resourcing philosophy and demonstrate high ability and creativity in cost management strategies.
  • High level of team leadership and the ability to make independent strategic decisions with excellent problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent planning, negotiation, analytical, interpersonal and organization skills as well as excellent communication with the ability to set and meet stretch targets and deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a solid awareness in operational risk and quality in driving service excellence.

Data Governance Lead

The data governance lead will be responsible for administering data policies, standards and procedure, for managing and implementing the enterprise data blueprint, for protecting data assets and stakeholder interests, and for providing support that enables data governance across the enterprise. 

The role holder will also lead and coordinate data stewardship and the governance organization towards setting policies, standards, architecture, and procedures, as well as resolving data related issues. 

The data organization includes data stewards, platform stewards, lead data stewards, and the Data Governance Council.

The Role
 
Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:
  • Drive the design, development, implementation, and application of the enterprise data governance program.
  • Establish a formal approach to managing the data assets through process, rules, policies and practices.
  • Coordinate the Data Governance Council – plan and direct meetings, work to resolve issues, drive strategic direction.
  • Work with the business units and corporate functions to establish effective data stewardship framework that work closely with the Data Governance Council.
  • Define and implement key data governance tools to support the processes.
  • Support strategic direction by drawing on information from multiple sources and using guidelines to analyze what information is important and how it should be used.
  • Achieves results by overseeing tasks through to completion, working within agreed priorities, committing to achieving quality outcomes, and seeking feedback from supervisors to gauge satisfaction and seeks guidance when required.
  • Support productive working relationships by building and sustaining positive relationships with team members, stakeholders and clients, and being responsive to changes in client and stakeholder needs and expectations.
  • Display personal drive and integrity by taking responsibility for meeting objectives and progressing work, showing initiative to do what is required, and committing energy and drive to see that goals are achieved.

  • Support the data management office and data stewards to ensure data assets comply with all governance policy, regulations, agreements, and business rules.
  • Contribute in the communications plan that keeps stakeholders updated on enterprise data governance.
Skills, Competencies and Experience
  • A degree in information management, organization governance, or related management fields is preferred. Possession of MBA will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of three (3) year experience in an enterprise data governance business environment.
  • Any database administration certification will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in guiding enterprise data management initiatives in key business areas and in operationalizing data governance.
  • Expertise in creating and deploying best practices and methodologies and knowledge about managing and leading technical data analytics teams across multiple departments.
  • Knowledge and experience in building and supporting data stewardship teams across the organization and developing initiative to cascade data governance best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and multiple initiatives
  • Ability to synthesize and analyze diverse data and information, develop and recommend strategies
  • Ability to think creatively, highly driven and self-motivated
  • Strategic perspective with an ability to analyze complex issues, develop appropriate action plans and deliver results.

Reporting to the Head Data Strategy & Governance, the Data Quality Analyst will manage and oversee the development and operations of the data quality management system and coordinate the management of internal and external audit processes including maintaining global data quality standards. 

The role holder will also integrate the various internal processes within the bank and provide a process approach for project execution that will enable the bank to identify, measure, control and improve the various core business processes and ultimately lead to improved business performance.

Skills, Competencies and Experience
 
The successful candidate will be required to have the following skills and competencies:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in information technology or information management. Possession of MBA will be an added advantage.
  • Must have obtained quality oriented certification such as Certified Six Sigma Certification, Certified Manager of Quality, Certified Quality Auditor, Certified Quality Engineer, or Certified ISO 9000 professional (Foundation, Auditor, Implementer, Master). Any database administration certification will be an added advantage.
  • At least five (5) years of quality analysis experience and/or relevant vendor certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and multiple initiatives coupled with the ability to synthesize and analyze diverse data and information, develop and recommend strategies.
  • Ability to think creatively with a strategic perspective, highly driven and self-motivated
  • Analytical with good project management and team leadership skills.

The Role
 
Specifically, the successful jobholder will be required to:
  • Design logical and physical data structures that support the enterprise information requirements and analyze and align the enterprise data models with other business process.
  • Define and maintain the data technology architecture; to guide the selection and integration of data-related technology, data integration architecture; to govern the flow of data within the enterprise systems and applications, data warehouse architecture; to capture the data transitions and snapshots in data warehouse systems for maximum usefulness and performance as well as the business intelligence architecture; to govern the decision support framework and drive data mining, analysis, and reporting.
  • Define and maintain the meta-data architecture that governs how meta-data is created, integrated, controlled and accessed and the enterprise taxonomies and namespaces to organize enterprise data.
  • Define and maintain conceptual structures and plans to meet the current and long-term data requirements of the enterprise.
  • Determine, document and assess the enterprise information needs from business, operational, compliance and regulatory perspectives.
  • Share best practices, lessons learned and constantly update the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and up-coming vendor products and solutions.
  • Support strategic direction by drawing on information from multiple sources and using guidelines to analyze what information is important and how it should be used.

  • TOGAF certification will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with or leading a Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) integration environment.
  • Strong background in understanding organizational resources, priorities, needs and policies, and use of the same in developing IT strategies and solutions.
