Key
Responsibilities
Program management
- Coordinate
and supervise activities of all the CHW’s.
- Plan
and implement health education session with the community
- Participate
in meetings concerning health promotion and disease surveillance,
prevention at the community level
- Facilitate
in the community health needs assessment, mobilization, information and
health education issues
- Plan
and conduct monthly calendar meetings with leaders.
- Represent
IRC in Camp Inter-agency coordination meetings.
- Coordinate
in carrying out public intervention during situation of communicable
disease outbreaks
- Able
to manage vaccine cold chain system with other program issues
- Keep
the Health Manager informed of all significant developments at the
community level
- Assist
in designing culture sensitive IEC Materials
- Participate
and Implement in camp surveys and immunization campaigns
- Participate
in the designing and planning of project proposals, workplans and budgets
Human Resource management
- Carryout
job assessment of the performance and the limitations of the CHW’s and
recommend appropriate continuous education
- Participate
in the recruitment and orientation of CHW’s
- Conduct
appraisal of CHW’s on quarterly basis and provide mentorship and coaching
Reporting and communication
- Submit
accurate and complete weekly/monthly sitreps on timely basis to the Health
Manager
- Represent
Health Program in monthly section leaders meeting
- Participate
in the technical forum at UNHCR, MOH and other agencies.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma
in community health or public health or any other related field
- A
minimum of 3 years of relevant job experience in the public health field
- Proven
experience in working with communities with diverse cultural practices and
low literacy levels
- Skilled
at managing workload and prioritizing work in multi-task environment with
frequent interruptions and challenging timelines
Required Experience & Competencies:
- Computer
literacy; word and excel are required prerequisites
- Able
to work in a team environment as well as work well independently with very
minimal supervision
- Ability
to work in hardship area, remote, insecure and non-accompanied location
