M-KOPA, winner of the 2013
FT/IFC Sustainable Finance Awards, is a registered Kenyan business, founded in
2011 but stemming from pilot trials since 2009. The founders of M-KOPA include
former executives from Safaricom and Vodafone Group, who also started and led
M-PESA. These people form an integral part of M-KOPA as a company.

Data Analyst
Responsibilities
- Interpret
data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing
reports
- Develop and
implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize
statistical efficiency and data quality
- Acquire data
from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data
systems
- Identify,
analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and
“clean” data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance
indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Work closely
with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and
define new process improvement opportunities
Requirements
- Minimum 1
year of experience in a busy business environment
- Knowledge of
statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing large
datasets (SPSS, SAS etc)
- Excellent
skills in Excel and Access, SQL is an added advantage
- CPA Part I
and beyond
- Strong
analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and
disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail
and accuracy
- Adept at
queries, report writing and presenting findings
- BS in
Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics or any other relevant
certification
- Strong
Communication and interpersonal skills
