Our Client, East Africa’s leading market research company, is looking for a highly motivated candidate to fill a Senior Position, within the Operations Division, as our Head of Field (HOF).
Reporting directly to the Operations Director.
The Head of Field will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and primarily responsible for East Africa, which includes Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, all their respective regions within the countries, as well as, involvement with 3rd party suppliers in countries over and above the three mentioned, where required.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have senior direct reports and be overall responsible for teams of Independent Contractors (Field Interviewers), quality and deadline deliverables and internal Client satisfaction.
The candidate must be able to work independently, think laterally and strategically, be solutions orientated, work with the business as a commercial partner in driving sustainable growth, enable enhanced performance and ensure appropriate disciplines and controls are in place to promote corporate governance.
The Candidate will be responsible for setting field objectives, highlighting priorities, in alliance with the Head of Function and being responsible in raising the financial acumen of the Field Department.
Research or marketing experience will be advantageous.
MS Outlook and advanced MS Excel skills is essential.
Summary responsibilities
- Manage the
activities of the Field Teams in East Africa
- Monitor and
track the operations and status of all Field projects, both live and
upcoming
- Conduct regular
visits to the Field regions to ensure effective and efficient application
and implementation of operations procedures and standards.
- Strategic Planning,
Networking, Innovation, Introduction of Automation, People Management,
Skill development, Training, Appraisals
- Interaction with
internal and external clients, the latter when required
- Promoting and PR
of and for Field
- Management of
Interviewer capacity and resources
Qualifications
- Hold a minimum
of a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Statistics, Sociology, Anthropology,
Mathematics or any other relevant degree course and higher. An advanced
degree will be desirable.
- Must have
Operations and or Logistics background and experience (minimum 5 years).
- Be a fantastic
Team Leader and player, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Be a Leader.
- Demonstrate good
understanding of the complexities associated with providing logistical and
administrative support services in international organizations operating
in other countries.
- Must have least
5 – 7 years of work experience as a Manager.
- Must be results
oriented, able to work under pressure.
- Demonstrate good
initiative skills, discretion and tact.
- Fluent in
English (oral and written).
