Position: General Manager

Our client, a specialized stone mining company dealing with state of the art
Marble & Granite mining, processing, and installations is looking for an
experienced General Manager to oversee business growth.
The ideal candidate will have an engineering or architecture
background, have passion for stone, as well as be a-hands on person to oversee
quarry, factory and building sites flooring installation activities. Passion
for stone is critical!
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Take active part
in Business Development; build new customer relationships as well as have
creative and innovative flooring ideas
- Obtain all
necessary permits and licenses and be directly responsible for mining,
processing and flooring activities while ensuring company continues to
maintain the lead in transforming the flooring industry
- Inspect and
review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes and
other regulations
- Interpret and
explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and
clients, representing the owner or developer
- Prepare
contracts, negotiate changes and additions to contractual agreements
with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Study job
specifications to determine appropriate flooring methods
- Take appropriate
actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at
construction and mining site
- Confer with supervisory
personnel, owners, contractors and design professionals to discuss and
resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints and related
problems
- Investigate
damage, accidents or delays at mining and construction sites to ensure
that proper procedures are being carried out
- Evaluate
flooring methods and determine cost-effectiveness of proposed plans while
ensuring company is on track to achieve projected targets
- Ensure efficient
transportation of company’s products to the customers premises
Skills and Competencies
- B.Sc. Civil
Engineering/ Mining/Construction Management or related field
- A Minimum of 10
years of experience in the flooring industry including managerial
experience in a similar environment
- Strong
leadership and analytical skills
- Results oriented
hands on personality with demonstrated ability to build a strong team
- Reliable
personality with high levels of integrity and honesty
- Demonstrated
passion for stone critical
