Purpose of the job.Our client , a company operating globally and is involved in sourcing trading, processing and distributing grains and oil seeds is looking for a Country Hr Manager.
Accountable for the Human Resources function for operations in Kenya. Partnering with the business providing both strategic and tactical support to existing tea business to achieve its goals; and new business growth opportunities
Principle Accountabilities
- Develop and
implement a country HR strategy to support business growth and partner
with business to provide strategic HR solutions with tactical action plans
- Drive talent
management, development and retention to ensure effective location
succession plans are executed
- Develop the
local HR team
- Deliver HR
policies and practices that are compliant with company corporate
guidelines, Country Labour and Manpower Regulations, Social Framework and
EHS rules.
- Source industry
related remuneration market data, and ensure competitive compensation and
benefit programs
- Manage
industrial /labour relations, assisting with union negotiations,
compliance & relationship essential; handle labour disputes,
disciplinary issues
- Lead employee
engagement initiatives
- Lead change
initiatives
Education
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences, Arts or Business
Experience
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Social Sciences, Arts or Business
Experience
- 8 years + in
Human Resources
- HR management
level, participating in HR strategy and in complex business environments
- Working in a
multi national
- Working with
other East Africa countries
- Payroll
experience an advantage
- Experience of
blue collar labour intensive environments
- Active
participation in trade union & bargaining council negotiations
- Experience in
the Commodity Trading Shipping and Tea warehousing Industry.
Skills
- Ability to
operate at both strategic and tactical levels
- Ability to deal
with ambiguity
- Ability and
confidence to engage and influence at senior levels
- Fluent in English
and Kiswahili.
- Strong
analytical Skills
- Strong
communication and interpersonal skills
