Training Nurse
Based in Dagahaley Refugee Camp
The objective of our project is to provide primary and secondary level of health care to the Refugees in Dagahaley refugee camp.
MSF
provides a full package of medical care through 4 primary health care units and
1 hospital (200 beds) with 24 hour emergency and OT.
The selected candidate will be reporting technically to Medical Team Leader and hierarchically to the Head of Nursing.
Location: Dagahaley Refugee Camp, Dadabb Start date: 15th February 2013
Type of contract: 6 months contract with possibility of extension based on performance.
Main Tasks (but not limited to):
- Assess
the training needs related with quality of care, in the MSF-CH Dagahaley
project in collaboration with the medical Team leader
- Collaborate
with the supervisors and clinicians and provide direct training to the
field medical staff and ensuring the material and content is adaptable to
the target audience
- Analyse
the feasibility to establish medical training activities in collaboration
with the medical team leader
- Advice
the field teams concerning methodology of teaching and pedagogy.
- Ensure/supervise
the translation of the training resources into local language. Develop
training tools relevant to Dagahaley project.
- Follow
up medical training activities with MSFCH and the other sections, MOH and
other agencies.
- Participate
to the adjustment of training activities with the Medical Team Leader.
- Set
up the training programme memory and maintain training material resource
centre.
Requirements:
- Degree
in Nursing/diploma recognised by National Authorities
- Formal
education in training science (pedagogy) (TOT),at least two years nursing
experience.
- At
least 1 years teaching experience in developing countries, preferably in
Africa
- Good
knowledge of MSF is desirable
- Fluent
in Somali , English and Swahili (speaking and writing)
Personal qualities:
- Rigour,
flexibility, ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multicultural
people, open minded, good communication skills, ability to listen, good
public –speaking and presentation skills
- Excellent
knowledge of health care both in the hospital and the community.
