St.
Paul’s University is a Christian ecumenical university based in Limuru, but
with Campuses in Nairobi, Machakos and Nakuru, and at least 10 affiliate
colleges in Kenya, Uganda and Southern Sudan.
It is
our desire to continue to match that growth with qualified personnel in our
faculties.
To this
end, the University wishes to recruit full time staff who are committed
Christians, highly motivated and with demonstrated ability to train a diverse,
young and adult student population in attaining their career objectives.
Lecturers
Senior Lecturer in Mass Communication
Applicants
for this position must have a PhD in Communication.
They
must also have at least 5 years of teaching experience at University level and
evidence of quality research by having at least 3 publications, have
professional experience in either electronic media, particularly Television or
print media.
They
must demonstrate knowledge in this field to meet the needs of the rapidly
evolving communication industry, and also demonstrated record of leadership
experience and success in the academic environment.
Those
with experience in cross-media platforms and ability to teach across the
communication curriculum will have an added advantage.
Senior Lecturer in Development Studies
Applicants
must have a PhD in development studies or related disciplines.
They
must also have at least 5 years teaching experience at university level and
evidence of quality research by having at least 3 publications, and should be
able to teach in at least one of the following specialisations: Organisational
development, Child/Youth Development and Community development, and will also
be expected to conduct research, publish, teach at both undergraduate and
Master’s levels, and supervise masters’ theses.
Library
Senior Librarian
Applicants
must have a Masters of Library and Information Science (LIS) degree with 5
years experience in an academic Library, with 2 years as Librarian, must have
contributed to scholarship with a minimum of two publications.
They
must also have good skills in the use of computers and familiarity with a
Library Information Management system, commitment to goals of professional
growth, demonstrable experience in library management, evidence of professional
growth and strong modeling of Christian community standards.
Studio
Studio Technician
Applicants
should have a Degree or Higher National Diploma in Electronics, engineering or
telecommunication from a recognized institution and at least two years
experience.
He/she
must be able to create, scrutinize, critique, modify, shape, and control both
sound and video.
Proficient
in the operation of sound, lighting, camera, and a variety of studio equipment,
and be exceptionally good in Final Cut and Adobe Premiere – based editing
suits.
Must
also be up-to-date with new digital technologies, able to repair and maintain
video and sound recording equipment.
Those
with prior experience in a broadcasting or commercial studio will have an added
advantage.
