The overall role of the incumbent is to oversee planned maintenance and vehicle repairs, inspections and licensing in order to ensure that Nation Carriers and the Group’s business objectives are realized and to oversee the implementation of the Service Level Agreement (SLA) by the supplier.
Reporting to the Fleet
Manager, the Workshop Supervisor will carry out the following key
responsibilities:
Key responsibilities
- Assist the
Fleet Manager in implementation of vehicle maintenance plans at the
supplier’s premises;
- Inspect
vehicle preventive maintenance and repairs at the supplier’s workshop;
- Raise
vehicle service and repair Interim Orders as per the maintenance contract,
for approval by the Fleet Manager;
- Carry out
vehicle licensing as necessary to comply with the Traffic Act;
- Ensure
controls and cost management;
- Arrange for
annual vehicle inspections as necessary at the government inspection
centre.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Diploma in
Automotive Engineering;
- At least
three years’ experience and 0-level education;
- Strong
coordination skills;
- Self
-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision;
- Ability to
work within time limits and with ‘out of the box’ mentality when required,
due to time
- constraints
to make sure work is done by deadline.
- Be motivated
at all times and to motivate the rest of the crew as well.
- Assertiveness
where quality and cleanliness is at stake
- Computer
skills
