Express Operations Team Leader

Reports To: Station Operations Manager
Job Purpose
Responsible for managing the express operations in terms of: planning, monitoring and proper implementation of all operational procedures and quality of service standards
Key Accountabilities
Typical duties included are but not limited to:
- Airport
Operations
- Manages
the various inbound/outbound operations performed at the airport to meet
the service expectations and quality standards.
- Monitors
the system updates related to the arrivals and makes sure they are done
according to the quality of service standards.
- Handle
and control the receiving process at the airport and monitors the
clearance process to be done according to the country local customs
regulations.
- Manage
the customer service aspect of clearance in terms of client/sales team
communication and clearing shipments on time.
- Develop
and maintain good working relationships with the customs authorities and
airlines to facilitate the airport operations.
- Inbound/Outbound
Operations
- Manage
the various inbound/outbound operations in accordance to the standard
procedures and Quality of Services Standards.
- Manage
the effective usage of IT systems and Scanner technology.
- Identify
and resolve repetitive service failures and human errors and facilitate
continues improvement.
- Continuously
strives for operational efficiency and coming up with creative ways to do
the job.
- Manage
the customer service function within the team in terms of
internal/external customer communications.
- Manage
the daily outbound schedules and continuously looks for alternative
linehaul solutions that improve the service in terms of transit time and
cost.
- Take
role in the sales initiatives and provide support for the sales people in
terms of projects pricing and customer attraction.
- Manage
and monitor the express supplies stock level and effective usage.
- Provide
full support to the other functions and teams when needed.
- Identify
the training needs for the team members and continuously improving their
skills and capacity.
- Manage
the team’s related costs and expenses according to the set budget.
- Responsible
for making sure illegal items such as drugs, weapons, liquids do not pass
operations.

- Adhere
to all related policies, procedures documented and published under Infohub
in the intranet.
Operating Environment
- In
the field of operations, the express leaders should make sure that job
holders are cautious when handling incoming shipments as many can contain
dangerous chemical materials sent by the shipper with false declaration.
These can directly affect the health and may cause severe consequences.
- Aware
of the correct lifting mechanisms and avoid lifting shipments/bags with
weight more than 30 KGs to avoid possible back injuries.
- The
operations nature involves working in shifts in a 24/7 working
environment.
Basic/ Job Requirements
- Bachelor
Degree (Industrial Engineering)
- English
Proficiency
- Computer
Proficiency: MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point &
Outlook)
- 3-4
years experience in operations
