Area Coordinator - Re-Advertised
Location: Nairobi with frequent field travel
Duration: 1 year (with possible extension subject to availability of funds)
Job summary: The Area Coordinator is the focal person in coordinating and overseeing Concern’s operations in Marsabit County and the point of contact for the County Administration.
More specifically, the person is responsible for representing
Concern in the County, coordination and networking, liaison with Nairobi, and
systems management both within Concern and in building the system capacity of
County Government and partner organisations.
Summary of Essential Qualifications:
- A
post graduate degree in social/political science with a focus on public
policy/administration or any other relevant field. Qualification in
communications will be an added advantage.
- A
minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position with at
least 2 years’ experience managing local governance programmes would be an
added advantage. Experience with an international NGO with 2 years, in a
hardship area.
- Demonstrated
organisational skills
- Strong
skills in networking and advocacy
- Excellent
written and oral communication in English
