Our client, a real estate and property management firm based in Nairobi is looking for an IT Administrator
Responsible for:First Line IT Support
Main purpose of role:
Main purpose of role:
- To
provide front line IT support to the companies staff.
- To
ensure that calls for support are dealt with promptly and appropriately.
- To
install and configure PCs and associated peripherals and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- To
provide technical support to telephone and email requests from users for
all PC hardware, software and associated peripherals. Set up equipment for
employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable,
operating systems, and appropriate software.
- To
log support calls and document their outcome to facilitate the resolution
of common queries. Maintain record of daily data communication
transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation
activities.
- To
redirect or escalate support requests to the appropriate service provider
e.g. ISP or outsourced IT Support company. This involves Analyzing
information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and the
know how to solve problems.
- To
pro-actively provide information to users on the progress of outstanding
support calls e.g. by providing information to supervisors, co-workers,
and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- To
contribute to ensuring that the Helpdesk systems and software are kept up
to date and messages are passed on and feedback received promptly.
- To
deploy PCs and associated peripherals including new installations and the
redeployment of existing equipment. This includes Inspecting equipment,
structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems
or defects
- To
install and configure operating systems to agreed standards under the
direction of the Directors.
- To
install and configure software to agreed standards under the direction of
the Directors.
- To
maintain the existing PCs and peripherals to standards determined by the
Directors, by performing upgrades, new installations and carrying out
routine procedures.
- To
help other staff develop their skills and knowledge with respect to
front-line support for small computer issues.
- To
assist in the compilation and maintenance of an accurate inventory of
hardware and software.
- To
assist in the compilation of the technical documentation, guidelines and
procedures and ensure they are disseminated to users.
- To
liaise with colleagues and technical development teams (especially
property management developers) to ensure continuity of service for all
users.
- To
provide at all times a professional, courteous and rapid response to
individual users.
- To
undertake such projects of a level commensurate with the responsibility of
the post, as designated by the Directors.
- To
undertake such other work as may be assigned which is consistent with the
nature of the job and its level of responsibility.
- To
develop and maintain active and progressive working relationships with all
staff members.
- To
establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside
local government.
- To
conform with the company’s standards and guidelines with respect to
information systems.
