Brief
Description of our client
The
primary aim of the British Government’s Department for International
Development (DFID) is reducing poverty and the achievement of the Millennium
Development Goals.
DFID
Somalia works closely with colleagues from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
and other departments on both policy and management.
The need
DFID is
one of the largest donors to humanitarian agencies in Somalia and given the
increased attention and budget for health in Somalia as well as the
anticipation for the Somalia programme to double its’ spend by 2013/2014
following the Bilateral Aid Review, two exciting and challenging vacancies have
arisen within Humanitarian and Health.
The requirements
The requirements
Based out
of the Nairobi office, the Humanitarian Adviser -
Somalia (Ref. HR12-13/05) and the Health Adviser - Somalia(Ref. HR
12-13/06) will be enthusiastic, self-starting, quick thinking and motivated as
they will be called upon to oversee and manage a wide range of issues that
arise within their section.
They must
also demonstrate evidence of the following:

Proven technical skills in area of expertise
·
Commitment to professional values and integrity
·
Excellent communicator, both written and oral
·
Knowledge of computers; good command of Microsoft Office tools
·
Somali language skills desirable (Health Adviser position only)
